Is the device free of physical damage like dents, cracks, and bends? Don't worry about small scuffs or scratches.

Does the device have a cracked screen, back or camera lens? Ignore light scratches. Is the body of the device free from bends, dents or screen/back separation?

Does the device work properly? This includes things like the software, speaker/microphone, cameras, battery, and other functional aspects of the device.

Does the software work as it normally should? Do the speakers and microphone work properly? Do both cameras work, focus on objects, and zoom? Does the touchscreen function and recognize touch throughout the screen? Does the device take a charge through the charge port? Do all of the buttons on the device work as they should?

Can the device be charged?

Plug the device into a charger -- does the device indicate that it's charging?

Is the touchscreen functional and free of discoloration, blemishes, and white spots?

Open an app with a white background like the web browser. Do you see any light spots, dark spots, or colors that aren't supposed to be there? Does the touchscreen have any areas that are non-responsive? If so, the answer to this question is NO.
